Characteristic Classes of Lie Algebroid Morphisms
We extend R. Fernandes’ construction of the secondary characteristic classes of a Lie algebroid to the case of a base-preserving morphism between two Lie algebroids. Like in the case of a Lie algebroid, the simplest characteristic class of our construction coincides with the modular class of the morphism. In [4] R. Fernandes has constructed a sequence of secondary characteristic classes of a Li...
متن کاملLie Algebroids, Holonomy and Characteristic Classes
We extend the notion of connection in order to study singular geometric structures, namely, we consider a notion of connection on a Lie algebroid which is a natural extension of the usual concept of a covariant connection. It allows us to define holonomy of the orbit foliation of a Lie algebroid and prove a Stability Theorem. We also introduce secondary or exotic characteristic classes, thus pr...
متن کاملSome results on the Mackenzie obstruction for transitive Lie algebroids
The preprint is prepared as description of results that were obtained during joint scientific project No: 71NC /2015/VNCCCT on the VIASM (Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics) from 08.12.2015 to 06.02.2016. The problem was formulated how to calculate so called the Mackenzie obstruction for existing of transitive Lie algebroid for given coupling between a finite dimensional Lie al...
متن کاملThe Lie Algebra of a Lie Algebroid
We present results describing Lie ideals and maximal finite-codimensional Lie subalgebras of the Lie algebras associated with Lie algebroids with non-singular anchor maps. We also prove that every isomorphism of such Lie algebras induces diffeomorphism of base manifolds respecting the generalized foliations defined by the anchor maps.
متن کاملLie Algebroids and Lie Pseudoalgebras
Lie algebroids and Lie pseudoalgebras arise from a wide variety of constructions in differential geometry; they have been introduced repeatedly into the geometry, physics and algebra literatures since the 1950s, under some 14 different terminologies. The first main part (Sections 2-5) of this survey describes the four principal classes of examples, emphazising that each arises by means of a gen...
